Well, hello.

I'm thrilled that you have found me. Hopefully, you have read one of my books and decided to check out my website.  Or perhaps you stumbled upon my little corner of the web and are considering a new book. No matter how you arrived, I'm just happy you're here.

​

You may have gathered from my "author photos" that I'm pretty casual and more than a little silly. I've had those serious, professional photos in the past, but I think these are a better representation of my personality.  Let's just say I'm zany. I like that word!

Besides being a secret WWE fan, I'm a major reader. I love to read. I read multiple genres and more than one book at a time. That is probably why my love for writing short stories in book collections is growing. Participating in collections or anthologies allows me to release more creative energy.

​

It seems as I get older (upper middle age here), my attention span is a tad jumpy when it comes to my own writing. Not that I won't continue penning full-length stories, because I most certainly will.  But I love variety and hope you do to.

​

Let me explain the C.L. Riley and Sapphire Stone thing. Yes, they are both pen names. My first name is Carol, and my plan was/is to place paranormal, urban fantasy, and SciFi stories under the Sapphire Stone banner and my other romances (MC/Biker, rock star, and dark romance) under C.L. Riley's name.

So far, that hasn't happened, and we continue to "co-write" a majority of stories. But...I'm working on it.  Really. I am. 

​

Which brings me to my final point. Branding. As you well know, many authors write one or two very specific genres. You will quickly discover I don't. Nope. I'm a genre confused author. You will see me dabbling in a handful of different genres, including reverse harem (why choose, after all?) , and eventually even young adult and the newer, paranormal women's fiction genre (right up my age-alley).

​

But no matter what I write, you will find romance, bad boy, alpha male characters, strong women, and hints of mystery and suspense. Typically, at least a dash of humor too.

​

AND...Big News - Summer 2021 "we" (both pen names) became USA Today Best Selling Authors. Yay! Major goal achieved.  I had to share that exciting development.

​
